Mayor Stockton,

Q. How many liquor code violations does it take for the Bloomington Police to actully catch people walking out of Fat Jacks with Long Neck Beer Bottles?

A.  We don't know, their still walking out with them every weekend!   Early this Friday morning, another girl with cup, and a guy with a brown necked bottle wrapped in brown bag?

Amazing we see the potential violations, but no police.  The camera catches them quite often.  And as far as Asst. Chief Mosers allegation of a vendetta, hogwash, the camera keeps catching them, and we keep reporting it, and NO ONE holds them accountable!!!!  Basic cause and effect. They do not stop it or prevent it, if you do not punish them for it. Simple how that works.  Its not like you do not know its happening, we send you clips each time.  So wheres the BEEF?  Do something about it.

Its not my job to find out who the Jagermeister bus was associated with, all I know is the entire East side of the 500 block of N. Main Street barricaded off from 7:00 pm to 2:00 AM for just ONE BUS.  And then it wakes up everyone when it leaves.  Thank god my business was not directly affected as it happened after 7:00 pm.  But alot of other businesses were, for just one bus.  Put yourself in the businesses persons shoes for once, and quit dreaming of the bar tax revenue.

John,

I can understand your dismay over a bus repeatedly  blasting its horn at 1 a.m.  That seems extreme to me even in a downtown commercial area. I will inquire about this to determine if any special permits were required closing off spaces for parking the bus along Main Street.

Although you message did not say, was the bus visit affiliated with one particular tavern, such as Fat Jack's? Why was  it necessay to obstruct parking along the entire block for one bus?

In the meantime, we are continuing to pay special attention to Fat Jack's, and have warned them that we will enforce any violations that we can prove. It is possible that you, living across the street, have observed actual violations that our police have not, but if frequent and open violations are taking place, it is only a matter of time before the city will have a prosecutable offense.

I am occasionally going down there to personally observe behavior.

I saw the message from the police, and it is a good summary of the situation they face in building a case

Mayor Stockton,

The East side of the 500 Block of N. Main Street was closed off with NO PARKING barricades for 7:00 pm to 2:00 am, THE ENTIRE SIDE leaving SHOWMES, LANCASTERS and virtually every other East Side business with NO PARKING just so ONE Jagermeister bus could roll into town, park for 2 hrs, give out their little premiums to bar patrons, then pack up and leave, BLASTING their horn constantly while they pulled out at 1:00 am.  NOT VERY ENTERTAINING FOR THE BUSINESSES OR THE RESIDENTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

NO WONDER EVERYONE IS ABONDONING DOWNTOWN BLOOMINGTON for more PROGRESSIVE thinking NORMAL.
